Dizzee Rascal's Dream (Andrew Goodwin's Theory)

A relationship between the lyrics and the visuals.
In this part of the music video we can see a long shot of an elderly woman seating on the piano. Furthermore, we can see a small box on top of the piano. This links to Goodwin's theory as in the video we can hear the woman saying 'should we see what Dizzee Rascal is doing today boys and girls' and then straight afterwards she also says 'He is such a Racal' and then we see Dizzee Rascal come out the box. This is linked with Goodwin's theory as it shows us that the  lyrics and she is pronoucing are linked with the visuals we are seeing.

A relationship between the music and the visuals.
In this part of the music video we see a long shot of Dizzee Rascal hanging about next to a off licence and him talking about the girls. When they walk past we can hear little bell ring, this can represent the way the puppets are walking. This links to Goodwin's theory as as the digetic sound of the bell ringing can be heard when we see the puppets are walking. This can suggest that they are trying suggest that because they are puppets they are linked to bells and when a bell ring they should go towards it. This links to modern slavery as black people were meant to listen to the bell ring and go towards them when they been rang. Therefore, this video is suggesting black people were locked to listinging to their 'masters'.

The genre- relating to the style and iconograpgy or the lyrics, music and visuals.
In this part of the music video we can see a long shot of Dizzee Rascal with a hoodie on and at the back their is people robbing a tv, this suggests that black people were considered to rob loads. They both are not held by strings, which can suggested they are let to rob freely because no one was doing anything about it, thats why black people got bad representation. No one done anything to stop them. Therefore, people considered that they were the main cause of everything. Furthermore, This links to the iconography as we can see Dizzee Rascal in a hood, this links to grime as loads of grime rapers use to wear hoodies to represent what type of music they were doing. Hoods were also popular and people use them to hide their identity.  Therefore Dizzee Rascal used it to represent the genre of the video and to show how black people were presented to be dressed.
