Comparing Tide Advert and Another Advert

Image
In the 1940 the advert is used for propagnada purposes in order to requirt woman to work in the factories for the man, in the advert there is a quote 'The soldiers need out help! round up the american woman. this illustrated that the woman were suppose go in the factories, they needed them because they needed woman to win war because without them they won't be able to win it because they would not have essentials to support the soldiers. Furthermore, the quote 'Turns out you gals are useful after all' this can emphasise that the woman were seen as not a useful individual and were treated badly and not respected. however, that picture represents that woman were needed in the war and were seen in a postion to do real work, they saw woman as not useful when they were just staying home, they saw what they did at home was nothing, going into factories was seen the real work which apparently was appropriate for them to say that as they had the right,it is trivialising what th...

Using this still, write a more specific description of George In this still we can George walking as if he is on a mission. We can see the dark background behind him, which can emphasise that he is leaving his dark past behind and is going into a brighter future. We can see George is holding a package, this can illustrate he might be going to a important place and that might some sort of a gift. Furthermore, we see that Georges costume is a suit; this can suggest that George want look presentable for someone, the suit is also bright colour, which can contrast from the dark background, it can cannot that George is becoming pure and more representative towards society as he might of been a bad person in his past. What is the significance of George walking across the bridge at the start of the film? What does it suggest about the character? The significance of George walking on a bridge at the beginning can suggest that he is walking into his new life, This can suggest that G...

Documentary- Representation about woman

How are woman portrayed in the media? Are there difference between the difference media platforms? Make reference to the following media platforms TV(new and reality TV) and film. The way the media is portraying woman is always the same, woman in the media are being portrayed as sexual objects for a main  purpose to attract the attention of males. Furthermore, woman are not only being portrayed as sexual objects, they are also portrayed as despitful or hateful towards other females. The media is suggesting that there is always competition between females, competition of who to be the primal female. The media also shares a view that woman are useless for a huge role such as president, because they are seem as weak and not as powerful or important as man are. The way woman are being portryared in the platforms is all similar. The way woman are bing portrayed in TV is a negative. The way the media portrays the females in movies, if the woman is playing a normal casual role they are ...

This Girl Can and I Feel Pretty Feedback

Extract WWW EBI What terminology or theories could have been Rewritten version (chose one of the exemplars) Exemplar 1 In the ‘I Feel Pretty’ advert the protagonist Maria Sharapova is solely empowered via a series of close ups and mid shots where shallow focus and tracks are used in order to keep the audiences’ attention on her. As well as all of the other actors’ are watching her as they all sing the song. Eyeline matches are used to show that the actors are watching the protagonist throughout. This empowers the protagonist, as she is a young woman receiving everyone’s attention even that of the advert’s John McEnroe whose appearance is significant due to his famous tennis profile as an angry and foul-tongued sportsman.      She/he described the it very clearly and used lots of media terminology. She/he illustrated their knowledge of feminism and how women are...

This Girl Can

Discuss how the use of voice over help to create meaning     In this picture, the voice is contrasted with what we are seeing, as the voice-over mentions 'cute' we don't see a girl that is trying to look cute, we see a woman that is ready for action, ready to go out and show people that woman should not only be represented as cute and beautiful. They should be taken into consideration that they are powerful as much as men are.Furthermore, the voice can help to create a meaning as it is suggesting even though some woman would love the sport they still look cute and beautiful in sports outfit and that they should not care what man say about them. In what ways can you argue that this shot challenges van zoonen's notion of objectification because of the meaning created by the use of sound, mise-en-scene and camerawork. In this shot, we can see that van zoonen's notion of objectification is portrayed, usually, bottoms are portrayed as a sexual object i...
